Runes 1: Elder Futhark Course
To apply, students must complete all the modules of the Foundation Level 2 course. This rule is mandatory because before practicing magic, the student’s mind must be prepared in the right way.
First, during the course in the runes, we use the basic techniques that students master in the Foundation Level 1 course.
Second, to adequately perceive powerful information flow of the runes, the subconscious mind of a student needs to be strong and free from prohibitions and barriers – something that is achieved during our Foundation Level 2 Course.
Both Foundation Level 1 and 2 courses are available for self-study from the school’s shop.

The first level in knowing the runes comprises 26 classes (an introductory lesson, 24 runes and a final lesson) and an initiation to the runic magic ceremony. Non-attendance of any class is not allowed. At the end of this level, students can continue their study in Norse tradition in more depth in the second level course “Runes and Deities”.
The study process is divided into three phases: the three aettir. An aett is a group of runes that develop a certain quality of personality and soul.
The first aett represents forces embedded in a person initially. The goal of this phase in the course is to awaken necessary innate qualities. This phase consists of 9 classes: an introductory class and 8 runes.
The second aett reveals qualities that must be realised and developed. This set of runes deeply affect the structure of personality, changing and adjusting it under the identified innate qualities found during the first aett. At this phase, the student’s consciousness and subconsciousness become coordinated.
In magical practices, teaching in magic starts only for those aspiring students who have reached at least the level of the Warrior Caste. The second aett helps to reach this necessary minimum level.
The third aett represents the ability to get results. This set of runes reveals the ability (or show the impossibility) of achieving a result in a certain way. That, in consequence, determines not only the social effectiveness of the warrior, but also the future “colour” in magic – light or dark.
On the last class, all runes are combined into a network in such a way that a change or comprehension of the additional qualities of any Elder Futhark rune entails an automatic change in qualities of other runes and, as a result, recalculation of the programme of fate.
Initiation ceremony concludes the course. Initiations always take place in the form of a ritual – a ritual of presentation to the Gods and Goddesses of the Northern Tradition. This is always a mystical action, when every student of the group learning gets on the individual path of development. Passing through the Initiation is the basis for the transition to the second level course of the Runic Department, the Runes and Deities Course. Students who have not passed this step are not allowed to continue their studies.
Important! At the moment, Ksenia Menshikova admits to initiation only those who have successfully completed the Runes Course at the school. Those who have mastered the runes on their own with the help of the textbook “Runes Reveal the Mysteries of the World”, are not considered to be students.
